'Marcato' is an Italian term meaning "Heavily marked or accented". As such, I thought the name fitting since I've played the piano for many years, and Shepherds are heavily marked and accented in both character and appearance!

The goal of Marcato German Shepherds is to breed a German Shepherd Dog of sound mind, body, and excellent health. We are hoping that with a lot of time, effort, and research that we will not only meet, but exceed our goal. There is no greater breed than the German Shepherd Dog, and we set forth into this endeavor with great confidence and an eagerness to improve upon what we already have here.
